The Livebox security key is required for connecting a computer or a peripheral device to Wi-Fi from your Livebox. It makes it possible to secure your wireless connection.
The procedures explained in this section:
Livebox security key
The security key or WEP key is a series of 26 numbers and letters that is located on the label of your Livebox.

This security key makes it possible to secure the Wi-Fi connection between your Livebox and your computer or any other peripheral device.
There are several levels of security (or encryption) possible: WPA2 > WPA > WEP.
enter the security key easily
1Open any word processing software program, for example Notepad in Windows.
To open Notepad, click on Start > Programs > Accessories > Notepad.

2In the window that opens up, enter the security key located on your Livebox.

The key is made up of 26 numbers and letters. It does NOT contain the letter O which should not be confused with the number 0. There are no spaces or punctuation signs.
3Once the key has been typed, select it and "Copy". To do so, just press the Ctrl+c keys at the same time on your keyboard or do a right-click with your mouse.

4Then "Paste" the security key into the box. To do so, just press the Ctrl+v keys at the same time on your keyboard or do a right click with your mouse.

The security key must always be entered twice. Do the operation again to place the security key in the confirmation box.

5Click Connect.
